to write a book

It's been three months or so since I got back from Manila and Hongkong. Three months that I imagined I would have been rabidly typing on my keyboard the pages of my novel or my semiautobiography or the children's book for my grandchildren about their grandmother. Until now, I haven't started. One day I would be decided on one, the next day the other. More and more, I lean on something to let my young grandkids learn about the life in those days, the dreams and experiences as well as talents, skills and achievements of their lola. I had planned to give it the title 'Dear Jude' addressed to my youngest grandchild but written for all seven of them and for the coming ones. It will give them a view of life in the Philippines, particularly in Bicol and Manila in those days, it will tell them about the family life, the people, the schools, the good times, the bad times that their lola lived through.

Another quandary, to write in tagalog or in english. The latter if it is for the grandkids, the former if it is a novel. The plots are ready, there have been several, but it is the timeline which I couldn't be comfortable with. Based on my life would be easy to describe but who wants a 62-year old heroine? The realization of handicaps is discouraging. I am a little lazy now. I should have done it at least 5 years ago. My vocabulary has sorely diminished these past decade, which means my memory, too.

Even just writing these two paragraphs make me sleepy already.
